Freedom/Sammy are expecting a litter November 23rd '11 $900 for pet papers, $1500 for breeding papers

REHOMING NEEDED: 3 year old male, intact. He is a great family pet -but began killing the chickens and chasing the sheep and tried to take out the other male dog. Needs to be the only male in the home- suggest neutering also! This is a great dog that needs to not be a livestock dog. His pictures are in "see the puppies"

Anatolians are from Turkey. They have been bred for thousands of years to guard livestock and family. They are a large breed dog with an unusually long life span for a large dog, 14 years! They are extremely independant. Anatolians will be the Alpha dog wherever they go. Females tend to be intolerant of other females. Owners of these dogs need to have a real understanding of being the Alpha human in charge of these willful, wonderful dogs. They can be the best dog you have ever owned, if you stay in charge. If you are a weak personality and think it is "mean" to order a dog around and demand compliance - PLEASE don't look any further. These dogs have huge hearts and they are driven to "please" their master. This makes them putty in your hand if you speak dog "alpha" language.

Anatolians spend most of the day dozing. They can go from apparent sleep to a dead run at 25-30 mph in seconds towards any threats to their charges.

Since they nap a lot - they have small appetites. They are not big eaters needing only 1/2 again as much as my 60 lb house dog.

They deter predators by marking their territory and barking. They are not random barkers going on and on all day. Anatolians learn what is "NORMAL" by observation. They will quietly watch all the normal comings and goings and will only bark at unusual things happening. Strange cars, animals, birds, people and noises will set them off to call an alert bark. They can learn to be quiet - though if there is a real threat - they will ignore your "suggestion" to be quiet and will do their JOB of protection.

We suggest obedience training your Anatolian to underscore your alpha status and so they learn basic commands that will be helpful in every day circumstances.

These are the brightest dogs I have ever known. They are a complete delight. I love watching them problem solve!

Enjoy the pictures!

We also breed Rat Terriers for farms and homes. Our rat terriers usually have one litter per year. Mom, Sarah, is from show stock, and dad, Sampson, is one handsome boy! Pups go for $250 depending on conformation.
